Breaking Through

This is the little girl (& profile) I'm in love with...

She turned 11 months old this week...
what's happened to my baby?
She's learned to blow kisses and give kisses when asked.  I'll gladly take a face full of saliva.

She's been working on ALL 4 top teeth for the last few weeks.

It's always a little sad for me (and her- though not in these pics) to see those baby gums disappear... and a little girl emerge.

It's been looking pretty painful but some airplanes and tickles (and the occasional Tylenol) have helped!

Oh, she's so sweet.  Can she be my little girl forever?

Keeping Cool

So this is probably what a lot of our pics from this summer will look like...
sporting the free Pampers sunglasses- love it!

the "cool" face

Lily has mastered crawling with her knees up so they don't scrape the cement.

He's totally loving the pool- he's so entertained by it!

How sweet is this pic- I love, love, love the swirl of a baby's hair- I think I'd get mine cut short if it would look & lay like Lily's does in the above pic!

attempting a together pic

We've had some "guests"--- Fields and Emily

The Brown girls have also joined us this past week but we forgot to take pics.  :)
Good times, good times.

Girls Outting

We had an overnight at the river house with 3 ladies and 5 little girls (11 mo, 11 mo, almost 3, 4 and 5) from our small group...

Ruby & Lily

a bath together, of course!

look at their skin tones- this is all natural for Ruby--- their names sorta fit!!

We had a fried dinner in Urbanna on the way back...

Memorial Day

We headed to the river house for Memorial Day Weekend- YAY, Welcome Summer!

The boy enjoyed a pear and some milk for the drive over...

Lily warmed up to Uncle Henry this time.  I don't have a good pic of them "closer" but she was happy to have him hold & snuggle her- it made his weekend.  He is a great babysitter!

I found out too late but Mike and Peter went tubing together.  I couldn't get my camera out til they were already back.  Still a pretty pic.

Peter went canoeing with Paw and Nicki- how CUTE is he, so little & waving in the middle.

Lily got her first up close look at some crabs.

Then some snuggles from Daddy.
(Lily got her toenails painted for the first time- summer pink- with help from Paw!)

And her first dip in the Piankatank.

I was hoping to make this a sweet little photo shoot like we did with Peter...

(how adorable are those and his little body!!!)

but alas...

The boat was leaving so we had to hop on board!

What a sweetie.  My heart swells just looking at that little sweet face (well, any part of her really!).  I love her clinched jaws.  She held that serious face the entire ride!

Peter went for his second tube ride.  He wasn't quite as excited this time.
He calls it "catching the boat" instead of tubing... :)!

(Since we've been back, he refers to Paw's boat as "motorcycle boat", instead of motor boat.)

Peter tried on Maw's hat... I love his expression captured perfectly.  You get so many messed up pics with little ones b/c they move so fast... I was excite about this pic--- it may need to be one we show at his wedding!  (But lets not talk about that!)

Peter got into inspecting the barnicles and periwinkles that were on the pillons (how do you spell these words?!)

And I love this one... Mike is such a sweet daddy and husband.

Catch Up

These pics are from Mother's Day at Mike's Grandparents house... some of the other great grandchildren were there.

Mary Vaughn kept feeding Peter snacks.  :)
MV is 2 mo younger than Peter.

Emma is just over a month older than Lily...

She's such a cutie and looks like a clone of her big sister.

Marin was also there- so many fun girl cousins and all such cuties.  Its really fun to have little cousins so close by... another great aspect of Mike's wonderful family.

And I just love this sweet pic of Gram and Lily.. Lily had gotten really excited to see her grandmas!  She looks so big.

Messes

Can't seem to get pics uploaded this week but here's what's going on....

Mess #1:  This morning at b'fast, Peter pulled the table cloth toward him, a big no-no, and so lots of stuff fell off the table.  He did this while he was waiting for me to fix his second bowl of oatmeal.  So as I was trying to fix the tablecloth and get him straight with his second bowl when that bowl fell off the table and broke in half sending oatmeal flying everywhere.  UGH!!

Mess #2:  I was downstairs quickly doing something while P&L were "quietly" playing upstairs.  (This has been a rarity this week as there's been lots of crying by a teething sweet girl and hair pulling by a big bro.)  As I headed back upstairs, I heard the bathroom sink water running and BIG splashes of water.  Peter had taken the "pee" part out of the toddler potty and was filling it up with water and dumping it on the floor in the bathroom. NICE!  I couldn't remember if I'd emptied it after his last little pee so that added to my frustration.  Lily wanted to be in on the action and had her little crawling hands all splashing in it.  ARGH!

Mess #3:  Peter headed upstairs at naptime while I brought Lily in from outside where we'd had lunch.  He had his milk cup with him.  I found him on his bed, the straw was out (it was not the one that came with it, it had long been gone from that gunky dried milk that gets in those straw cups & I had a twisty straw in it for his oral motor strengthening).... so the straw was out and he had it upsided down pouring milk all over the bed and on a book.  AHHHHHHHHH!!!

Peace, peace, there is peace in the house now and it can't last long enough... I so need to get things in order & have my brain to myself!
