the 5 S's

Although different than the 5 S's we thought this month would bring, we had a fantastic time at the beach last weekend.  Three and a half glorious days of sun, sand, sea, sleep, and stories.  Mike's parents treated all of us to a long Columbus Day Weekend vacation.  It was just perfect.  After a month or more of rainy days, we had the perfect blip of three gorgeous, sunny, not-a-cloud-in-the-sky days!  And we loved getting to see his siblings and their families!

We arrived late on Thursday night.  The next morning, we didn't find Peter in his bed.  Mike searched the house and finally found him here... sleeping with Liam... hilarious!  Do you think they were happy to see each other?!

....Lots of pictures from the weekend!....

This little love and I went to the beach just the two of us one afternoon.  She wanted to sit on my lap.  So we sat there, we two, Lily and me.  Just sat there, held pink dogs, and soaked in the sun.

The kids hadn't seen Ski and Kathy as much recently with them helping her parents.  So they were in love with the concentrated time with Pop and Gram!

The water was chilly but not too cold.
Mike and Matt surfed!
The kids definitely enjoyed the water and waves!
FUN cousin play time!

Mike, Lily and I went for a walk.  (Pete went in with the rest of the crowd.)
the girl was a sleepy one when we got back...
 After naptime,
 more beach fun!
and finishing the day with a family pictures.
(its starting to get cloudy at the end of our third day)

The last morning, we called and got an extended check out time and went to play more...
running up and down this walkway
and with the sand fiddlers!
 and in the waves...
Thank you, Kathy and Ski!  We loved every minute!

Treats

A few weekends ago, I drove the kids down to my parents house and we all stayed overnight.  It was really nice to have time in the country, in wide open spaces.  I don't realized how cramped I feel in the suburbs til I get out.  It was nice to visit with Mom and Dad, too.  Then I headed back for the second half of the weekend at home.  We called the G's and begged them to get a babysitter... we went out to dinner and stayed out til 11:30... what?!  What a treat!
Sunday was great.  We got to go to Mike's company picnic then visit his grandma.  We met my parents to get the kids.  Conveniently, we met at a Dunkin' Donuts!
 why PINK, of course!
I think these 2 pics are from a morning that P was at preschool.  I can't remember what she had gotten into.... but geez, my heart skips a beat at the preciousness in my house.
See, she loves "Baby Audrey"  :)

Holly & Baby Audrey

Lily wants to introduce you to her "babies"...

Meet Baby Audrey.

and this one on her left is Holly (just named last week)

Baby Audrey needs to have her blanket adjusted in the stroller (we're not talking safety here)

Holly, how are you feeling?
 Are you comfortable?
Your hair looks so pretty today.

Audrey, are you still comfortable?

Such a good little mama!
