Halloween 2012

We had a Peter Pan and Princess Tiger Lily this year.
Sitting next to their kitty and puppy pumpkins.
(Notice Lily's bag, anyone?  I cleaned out a closet this week and found it... it was Big Lil's bag.  And Peter is carrying a bucket he got from Holly when he was born.)
We went to our second annual neighborhood parade....
... with our two dalmatian friends :)
Then we all had fun trick or treating together.
And there's WAY too much candy in the house!!

Pumpkin Patch

We are maxing out the fall related posts here.  ;)
The kids went on separate days to the pumpkin patch this month with their preschool classes.
I didn't feel up for going both days so they had me go with Peter's class and then Lily rode with a classmate.  :)  Here is 2011 and 2010.  Wow, the cuteness.
Another kid, C, from Peter's class went with us.  :)
I think I should have brought sunglasses for the boy.
Lily went the following preschool day.
That mom did a better job taking pics than me.  And so glad she shared them!
I call it that girls are more willing than boys.  ;)
Seriously, are they not the cutest together?!!!
 Lily's friend is funny!  :)
The word is that Lily wasn't told to pose, she just struck this pose.  Hilarious!
And my cuteness is growing up into such a big girl... !
Lily's sweet class (minus her friend).

Farm Spree

Before the real part of the post, in other news this week... our van turned over 100,000 miles.  I remember my dad making a big deal of this and since I married a man like my dad ;) (and I was raised by my dad!), we had to take a picture of it.  I emailed Mike this pic.  Thankfully, it happened when I stopped over at his parents' house.  He let me know he was glad the speedometer was at ZERO in this pic.  Cause who would ever do that?!
Peter's class had a campout this week and it was all the talk.  I saw this pic in the hallway outside of his class this week to document the fun!  I love preschool.

So back to the farm trip, our sweet neighbors offered us free passes to a farm about an hour from us.  So the kids and I went one afternoon... definitely in my usual fashion, we left a little later than we should have to give ourselves enough time there.  Even if just for a little while, I still just had to get out before this hurricane arrives.  Booooo.  (haha!)
I woke the kids (yep, we are napping and loving it).  Lily told me she was still tired so wanted to finish her nap in the car... how cute is a sleepy, rosy cheeked kid?!
Half of these are with my phone and half with the real camera.  I've misplaced our normal lens so only have the zoom til I look harder for it :(
I jumped in the car in front of them.  They were so excited so it was fun to watch!
Peter is totally checking out the wheels here... still fascinating at age 5!  :)
They also thought it was really funny to look at each other :)
We had to move through everything fast to see it all!
Sweet hands on the hayride
We scurried through the pumpkin patch and onto the animals.
I decided... If Peter was an animal, he would be a goat!
So friendly, the goat just skipped right over to us with her little tail wagging.
See example here... He is saying "Hi, my name is Peter" to these people outside the moonbounce.
As we continued on our way, we saw a lost bunny!
Lily says "Come on, Pete!!"
See it running from them...
Onto the corn pit...
Time to head home...
Such a fun outting with my kiddos!

Moving On Up

... to the bike trails!!!  It was such a beautiful day!
We finished up our "work" this morning in time to do something else & since we've been working hard at biking but are now tired of our parking lot, I thought it would be fun to find a bike trail.  We first stopped off at this playground, also at the park we were trying out.
Then we hit the trails.  I wasn't totally sure what it would be like, but it was PERFECT!!
We will definitely be going back!!  Its fun to think about entering this new season of being able to really ride bikes!!
By the time my kids learn to ride bikes,
I'll be able to share all the pros and cons of a balance bike vs traditional bike.  ;)
We looped around the biggest lake and stopped off at this pier.
I couldn't stop emailing pics to Mike b/c it was just all so beautiful.
I tried to get them to do a jumping pic but only Lily would participate.  :(
 Back to the trails...
I enjoyed it as much as they did!
Then we stopped in at the nature center. :)
I'd bought pretzels, raisins, and Capri Sun waters the day before (that were still in the van) so we were able to have a make-shift lunch that carried us over into the afternoon.
It was good for our souls to be in the glory of a sunny fall day :)

the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Psalm 19:1

Scuppernong*

The kids had the best time saying that word
and making up as many silly variations as they could think of!
Lily spent the weekend with Maw and Paw at the farm house.
Yesterday we drove down to pick her up and stopped first for a visit with Grace :)
It was a pretty fall day for a drive and fun to see lots of people we love.
Now onto pics of the search for a Scuppernong...
