Verse A Day

just me and lil

Grandma insisted on taking the boy with her to the river.
So the girl and I have had some sweet time together!

Look who can stand!!
I can hardly bear the sweetness of that face!

Grandma did leave behind evidence of her presence!  On a whim, we tried out a new color for the family room.  I liked it when it was just around this window.

But it feels a little too crazy when I see it here on the back wall.
And now I want the track lighting replaced.  That certainly won't happen.
The kaki couch makes things tricky too.

Anyway, its a fun process.  I'll get started on the white trim and process the wall color a little longer.

The Reception

So all of us who really know Will have said, seriously, he has NEVER smiled like he does for Emily.  Seriously, I'm not making this stuff up.  Look at his smile!  It was even true for wedding day pics.  We couldn't get him to smile well in any of the pics before the ceremony, before he'd seen Emily.
These pics make me happy to see how happy they are!
And I just loved, loved being with all of our family for the weekend.
The ever lovely Aunt Bettie and Uncle Ray...
Jeff and goofy Matt
Halie and Logan
Loved, loved spending the eve out with Mike.  My sweet parents-in-love came and stayed back at the hotel with Peter and Lily.  We stayed out til 11- can't remember the last time we've stayed out that late!
Loved laughing & having fun with Holly, Jessica & Tayloe!
I so enjoyed all the time with my family- we all had bruch together on Sunday morning and I just loved sitting around and talking with everyone!

Look at Will's admiration for his bride.
Thanks, Will and Emily, for such a great weekend!!

The Wedding :)

So hard to narrow it down to just a few pics!
Here are the men in black...
and MY favorite four...
Will and his Mama...
John modeling the boutineer...

The groom and bride just before the big "I do"...
their last "single" pics
Emily looked so beautiful & radiant, I love her excitement in this pic!

couldn't get Peter to look but Daddy and his babes... love them!

The Flythe Family (Mom's side)
we missed Justin, Molly, Loulie, & Max--- :(
and of course, Granny Lil

The Dennis Family
my sweet cousins (esp Logan & Halie- on either side of Lily) were SO, SO helpful with my kids.  I loved seeing all of them for an extended period of time!

and Mr and Mrs Dennis are off...

It was beautiful!  They're hitched!  Yay!  We love them!

The Location & Special Touches

Everything was so beautiful and coordinating and well-thought-out.  The reception area looked amazing.
I found Will there, deciding which Scripture Daddy should read.... using the KJV Gideon Bible from the hotel.  I didn't really give him a hard time about that.  No, I totally did!
Shawn (the pastor) saved the day with his NIV Bible.
And they settled on 1 Cor 13... always good to hear!
The morning light was so crisp and perfect!
Here's the front of the bed and breakfast were they had the ceremony!

And the guest book table...
And everyone threw these rose petals as they were leaving... You'll get to see that in action on the next post...

The Rehearsal

Emily and Will's Wedding Weekend was Wonderful!  Everything was beautiful!
The bride and groom looked beautiful and the weather was perfect!
Emily gives it all a big thumbs up at the rehearsal! :)

John and Jessica look like they are posing for a GQ magazine shoot.

My kids had great care all weekend.  Lily got some sweet lovin' from Cha.
Is she gorgeous or what?!
Pete looked like a little man in his linen pants, polo shirt, and Sperrys.
Holly was a fun playmate!

The good-looking Dennnis offspring... (I think its just hard for me to stand up straight when holding a child.  I look like I am slumping on all of the pics.)  I feel like the Dennis family is complete now!  Yay, Will and Emily!

Time with the Kosers

Still posting in reverse order for this week...
We spent Sunday night after the wedding with the Kosers so we could meet baby Caitlyn.
We took all 4 kids out to eat.

Not a suprise, Mike was the welcome entertainer of the "big kids"....

Clearly, they thoroughly enjoyed it!
Annika definately thinks he is pretty funny!

It was nice to have a slower morning to just chat w/ Melissa while Mike played with the kids!

Vacation Week

We've enjoyed our week of "vacation" with Mike!  Tuesday and Wednesday, we "split up" and did our own things since the other could watch the kids.  I took the kids to Wellspring, Mike went camping on Tues eve and really enjoyed it.  Then on Wednesday, I did a couple of things at church and we both went to look at a house I've had my eye on.  Thankfully, the house was a definate NO.  So now I can move on to things I want to do here at our house... :).  Thurday and Friday were more "family days"... one day spent with the Andrews and one day spent at the zoo and then dinner with Kathy.   It been SO nice for the 4 of us to have slower time together.  I'll really miss this when Monday rolls around!!

Tug of War

We spent Thursday morning with the Andrews.  The guys started a batch of beer and the moms corralled the kids outside.  Peter and Luke had lots of fun together!

They were superheros!
(Yes, the talented Joy made these amazing capes for them!!)

Luke tried on Lily's shoe

Lily rode in the wagon

Peter and Luke played a friendly game of tug of war with the linkadoos...
Good Game, boys!

It was SO nice to spend half the day with them & be outside!!
