"Disturb us, Lord, when
We are too pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when
With the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
We ask you to push back
The horizons of our hopes;
And to push back the future
In strength, courage, hope, and love.
This we ask in the name of our Captain,
Who is Jesus Christ."

the snowboard has a new home...
We finally got around to posting Mike's snowboard on craigslist (that he'd bought in high school, I think). It was my first post so I was a little leary of who would come by to buy it. Turns out it was the cutest high school boy (a little acne and braces) with his mom in tow. I'm so happy to think of him and his little brother (who was also along) enjoying it for their high school years!

SNOW DAY!
We have about 8 + inches so far and its still coming down! What a fun pre-Christmas treat! We finally put our tree up last eve (the latest we've ever put it up but the only time we've gotten to put it up while it's snowing!)
Peter LOVED his time outside this morning and didn't want to come back in. But he got to try his first "hot choc"... it wasn't as big a hit as we thought it would be!

The Pretty Girl
Hair Cut
I decided to give Peter a haircut this am... I just couldn't handle it anymore (that's usually how it happens for me). So this is the before shot...
I've given him most of his haircuts (after taking him once to see how it was done). But lately he just can't sit still so for his last cut, my mom and I took him to a shop to have it done. And that just confirmed that my cuts aren't so bad... and I do enjoy it. :) Grandma (or otherwise affectionately know as "Maw") had given Peter this lollipop- I thought it would be perfect bait for haircutting time.
But he finished it in 6 or 7 minutes (longgggg before I'd finished with his hair)!
After bath and clean up, here's a shot of the new do while eating his lunch. I think it turned out well, considering he was very upset with me for he last quarter of his hair! He looks handsome!
