Oops, I skipped Saturday.

We went to an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.

Such a pretty day and perfect first day of spring activity.

I enjoyed the socializing.

Lily got to see one of her best friends, Ruby.

They were so sweet sitting together while the big kids hunted. 

I didn't manage any pics of Peter :( but boy did he enjoy the chocolate and candy inside the eggs.  He got in a lot of sugar as he'd gotten jelly beans that morning for a minor haircut.

Its really not all that bad, I just forget to take pics til the end and he's so over it.

Then he got a bath.  :)

Covenant Baptism

Lily recieved the "sign of the covenant" yesterday at church.

I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around covenant baptism b/c its different than what I grew up with.  We took a class before Peter's baptism so it was "fresher" in my mind.  I agree with it in knowing that God is for us and pursuing us before we are aware of Him.  And it is He who is the initiator with us, not us with Him. 

"For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to Himself."  Acts 2:39

We pray there will be a day when Lily trusts Jesus for her salvation and knows He has always been pursuing her.

I was embarrassed when I looked at these pics and saw how "improperly" I was holding her!  Her dress was all bunched up!  ugh.

Our parents, Lily's GRANDparents joined us for lunch.  And they provided a YUMMY spread of egg casserole, muffins, and fruit!

There was an unofficial dress code of aqua blue, blue stripes, or yellow/green.  :)

I couldn't get enough of her bare legs!!!

Peter wanted to get in the "baby" swing...

flashback to the little munchkin almost 2 years ago...

a little heavier and a "head" taller.

This is so Peter- he was a little squirt as a baby and is a thick, tall boy now.

I get lots of comments about his height and heaviness (not fat).  :)

And this was another cute sight in my backyard...

I couldn't get too close, it was a fleeting moment.

Yi-Yo

Peter loves a tractor (as I'm sure do most boys).  He has a toy tractor that plays Old McDonald so he started calling a tractor a "yi-yo" when he was first learning to say E-I-E-I-O.  All blended together the end of E-I-E-I-O sorta sounds like "yi-yo".  Well, a dream came true for him b/c Paw got one last weekend while we were at their house. 

And he got to "DRIVE A YI-YO!"

Gram always gifts them with green b/c of the Irish blood on her side...
We gladly indulge and are hoping for the annual photo swap of the 14 great grandkids today!

More words from Wellspring...

I love Wellspring.  God refreshes my soul through it.  I feel like a different (happy, free) person when I leave.  We are studying Galatians.  Today we started in on chapter 5 and this part jumped out at me...

Do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.... If you let yourselves be circumcised (or serve small gods, lame masters, clean house, order, control), Christ will be of no value to you at all.  Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.  You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.... The only thing that counts is faith, expressing itself thru love.

This explains a lot of my struggles to me.

Kim shared that often when we are having a hard time accepting forgiveness (or circumstances maybe?), its b/c we are serving a small god (my desires, wishes), not the Living God.  Christ has set us free, forgiven us, He doesn't serve my little gods but works all things for His Glory, even at the cost of my comfort. 

What on earth am I doing writing this out, it freaks me out a bit but I thought it was profound this morning and wanted to "record it".

Year of the Doll

I've decided to call Lily's first year my "Year of the Doll".  She is just that!  Tonight I took her to the dr for a cough she's had for 3 weeks (its nothing!).  We had to wait a little while b/c there was only one doctor there for the late appts.  We had the BEST time.  I loved having that one-on-one time with just her and no distractions, no temptations to "do" something else.  How ridiculous is that.  She was so giddy, happy, and lovey.  She's been leaning in for some "kiss" type thing lately.  :)  I have SO enjoyed this first year with her and feel totally spoiled with her sweetness and doll-ness.  Love you Lily Bug!
