Hello, New Honda!

We have some good memories in Honkie (our 96 accord).  Mike fondly gave it that name b/c of the sound of the horn.  Mike bought it in Aug 02 after he crashed his Altima into a deer.
I was afraid I wouldn't get an engagement ring b/c he had to buy a "new" car instead.  Turns out I did get an engagement ring- its worked out nicely for me ;).  We brought 2 babies home from the hospital in it.  It has 201,000 miles on it.  Honestly, I've enjoyed driving an old car and not worrying what happens to it.  And truthfully, Mike and I do pride ourselves in being "cheap".  Thankfully, Jesus gives us a better identity.

Hello, new Honda!
We still need to name her.  We'll have time as we take her on our first trip to Uncle Will's wedding.  We are super excited and thankful for this upgrade.  I'll feel like my children are a little more safe when we don't have to drive the interstate with the windows down, since it does have A/C.

Sweetness may have returned...

Today feels so much better. The last few weeks have been hard, hard.  Mike has been working like crazy so not around a lot.  Peter has been a mess, difficult.  My heart has been angry (and I hate that as much as any of the circumstances around me).

But Peter has had some good love from his grandparents lately.  Thank you Lord for them- they are such sweet intercessors to love our children when I just feel so unable.  My mom graciously took Peter for the weekend, despite that it was the weekend before her son's wedding.  Peter had a sweet eve at "Goo's House" last night.  Today he has been a sweet, fun, happy boy!!  I feel like my sweet little man has come back a little.

Lily has been on antibiotics since the weekend for a skin infection (so sad and hard on a momma's heart).... This morning Peter found the syringe that I'd used to give Lily her medicine.  He'd walk over to her, put the tip in her mouth and say,
"Here, Lily.  Its tastes good, Lily. OK?"
He'd walk over to the corner of her room and pretend to refill it.  Then walk back to her and sweetly say the same thing to her.  Over and over.  It made my heart smile.

We've had a "tradition" what whenever the buttons on the exersaucer are hit enough times to make a song play, we have to dance to the song.  So this morning Peter made the songs play 100 times and told me to dance with him each time.  It was so sweet.  He shakes his head back and forth each time.  The dancing did both of us good!

Today has been more like my sweet boy, not this face that I've seen too, too much in the last few weeks...

Sweet Lily is learning to crawl.  She just goes backwards so far but is more and more able to support her weight on all 4's each day.

Blog Namesake

I found these 2 sweet pictures of Mike and Granny Lil as I looked thru old pics...

esp love this one...

She gave Mike the nickname "Personality" b/c she couldn't say Perzanowski  :)

The longer version:  When I was first dating Mike, I'd taken him home to meet my parents.  Grandma lived with Mom and Dad.  I would sleep with her in her double bed to make room for others in my bed.  As we were laying there and talking before we went to sleep, she asked me my guy's name.  I said "Mike" (remember she was hard of hearing).  At first, she said back to me, "Mack".  No, its Mike.  OK, Mike.
Then she asked what his last name was.  I thought, oh great, she is never going to be able to understand me.  So I tried and said "Perzanowski" really slow.  What?  Per-zan-ow-ski.  What?  Per-zan-ow-ski.  What?  Repeat a few times.  Finally, she said "Personality?" and I said "YES!"  From that day on, she called Mike 'Personality'.  She did come to know that his last name was Perzanowski but she still had her sense of humor and thought Personality was much funnier... and it was.  And it helped that Mike loved it as much as she did.  Occasionally, she'd call him Mack, too.

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter!
It was nice to worship in nature.

We enjoyed our first boat ride of the year- Peter got to check another thing off his list of things he's driven. :)

flashback: the above pic reminded me of this pic from last April...

The boy is such a hugger...
I love that about him.

The pretty girl enjoyed the weekend too!

One Man Hunt

Daddy's Birthday Adventure

Sorry... there will be a lot of pictures!
My Mom had the great idea to send Daddy on an airplane ride for his birthday.  I was so impressed with the idea and it's totally up his alley.  So we blind folded him and took him to the "location".  He guessed where we were when we arrived-he has too good of a sense of direction.... we should have done some circles to confuse him!!

Altho he wouldn't admit it, we think he knew what his suprise was.... but he played along well!

getting strapped in....  I didn't realize the plane wouldn't have a top, that sorta worried me!

ALL SET!

About the take off....

hugging my sweet hubby- I was happy to see him for the day!

LOVE these pics below- teaching Peter to do an airplane

Peter's turn....

"How much longer til Paw comes down from the airplane?!"
(love his expression- he was a little sad that Paw went up in the airplane)

the whole gang eating lunch while we waited (he was up for an hour)... a good southern mom-and-pop place... mostly meats and applesauce on the menu :)!  But it was really good!

The men checking out the plane after his landing.
He had a blast and couldn't stop talking about it (imagine that!)

Lily Bug and sweet Aunt Jess

Presents and Playing

We all loved seeing John and Jessica for the long weekend.  They are so good about helping me to take care of my children when Mike isn't around (since he worked on Friday).  I know Peter thoroughly enjoys it and Lily doesn't mind the new snuggles.

Kathy and Ski sent down some Easter books for the babes.

Lily got "The Velveteen Rabbit" and Peter got "Duck Rabbit".

Lily was pushed in Peter's dump truck--- she really liked it.

Peter was happy to see a "new" set of toys.

And he got pushed by Uncle John in the dump truck (inside and outside). Always a big hit!

We love J and J!!
