what we've been up to

Its been project mode recently!  

Last week, I was quite serious about checking things off my list (fun things!)...

*  I spray painted our little table and chairs.  It took for.ev.er and 16 trips to the store for more paint.  I'd only ever spray painted little things before.  I definitely didn't fall in love with spray painting.  I didn't love the fumes, the not-so-great coverage, or the toxicities listed on the label (that I only read after I'd gotten too far in to turn back).  I've put some water-based polyurethane on the table and plan to coat the chairs too.

*  We got some plants to grow this summer (i know, a little late to the game).  This cute cucumber plant and a tomato plant & basil in the back.  Its been Peter's job to water them.  :)

Its fun to watch them grow even if they don't end up producing anything for us.

*  I've cleared and sorted LOTS of things and taken loads to goodwill (love doing that!).

(and Lily found that little chair at goodwill and wanted it so I spray painted it so her babies can have a chair like hers.)  

We put away their booster seats in the dining room too and have been having them sit at the table with us... fun!

*  We've also played with friends!  These are the 3 little chicks playing in their "nest".

* Speaking of friends, I booked my flight to go visit Kari for a long weekend & celebrate her babies!  

I CAN'T WAIT!

 *  Last weekend, Mike and I had the most fun date night.  We had a nice dinner out and then walked around  a little to enjoy the evening and picked up some treats for the kids.  Lily had been asking for a necklace so we bought her some $2 jewelry.. pink necklaces & bracelets.

Peter got this horn.  He loves it and is really good at it... great oral motor exercise, I hope.

(oh, and Mike got this Elmo shirt... he likes to talk like Elmo for the kids so they think it's great!)

*  After weeks away, Maw was finally able to visit us this week for 3 days!  

We hit some clearance sales and made some fun purchases.

I even had our babysitter come one afternoon while the kids were napping so Mom and I could head out alone!  :)  

And of course, our weeks have been full of therapies and a fun new gym class for Peter.

*  I "fixed" the paintings and hung them (loving my neutral walls)

*  And we've been prepping for Lily's birthday party next week!
